A large Olympic stadium with the Olympic flame burning and cloudy sky.

2032 Olympics Relocated to the PRNB After Brisbane "Just Needs a Few More Decades

PRNB - In a stunning but deeply unsurprising development, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) has officially stripped Brisbane of the 2032 Olympic Games, citing “vibes-based delays,” and awarded the event to the People’s Republic of the Northern Beaches (PRNB)—the only nation on earth confident it can build absolutely nothing and still call it world-class.

IOC spokesperson Lars Von Clipboard confirmed the decision overnight in a thick Dutch accent.

“Brisbane promised stadiums, transport and housing,” he said. “All we can be sure of receiving is PowerPoint slide decks, consultants, structurally unachievable renders of venues, another few reviews and a vague sense of optimism. The People’s Republic of The Northern Beaches, meanwhile, already has Brookvale Oval, Narrabeen Lake, John Fisher Park, padel and climbing adjacent very capable Cromer Park, Andrew “Boy” Charlton swimming pool, 9 Ovals, 29 beaches, 13 golf courses and 2 Harris Farms. Now, that’s infrastructure Bitches.”

Brookvale Oval to be Developed Into 'Super-Stadium'

Under the revised plan, 4 Pines Park (Brookvale Oval) will become the official Olympic Stadium, hosting opening and closing ceremonies, athletics, football, rugby sevens, and - by popular demand – Beer Pong.

PRNB Minister for Sportswashing and Activewear, Declan “Davo” Saltburner, said the Brookie Oval was a natural choice. “It already hosts elite athletes, has one hill, and sells mid-strength beer. Frankly, it’s overqualified.”

The ceremonial Olympic flame will be lit using a BBQ lighter borrowed from the Manly League Club.

Events Locked-In Across The Beaches

While many venues are under review and progressing negotiations over a few beers, some Olympic venues are already locked in include:

  • Surfing: Held at Dee Why Point, judged exclusively by Terry from Terrey Hills who last surfed in 2009
  • Open-water swimming: Manly Cove, with bonus points for dodging ferries and backpackers
  • Triathlon: Starts in Narrabeen Lagoon, ends emotionally in traffic on Pittwater Road
  • Cycling road race: Multiple laps of Wakehurst Parkway, athletes warned about speed cameras and tailgating Rangers
  • Surfing: At whichever beach looks most dangerous on the day, crowd required to pretend like they don’t want to see competitors smashed into some rocks
  • Beer Pong: Four Pines Truck Bar, locals will need to act drunk to make international visitors feel better about not being able to handle their      piss
  • Skateboarding: Freshwater skate park, crowd required to pretend they “totally get it”
  • Sailing: Middle Harbour, postponed daily due to “not the right breeze”
  • Beach Volleyball: Manly Beach, courts positioned directly in front of the most passive-aggressive sunbathers on earth

The Olympic Village will be spread across AirBnBs from Manly to Mona Vale, with athletes encouraged to “just deal with it” when hosts refuse to remove family photos and swear that the CCTV cameras in the house are “definitely switched off”.

Local Residents React Reasonably

Reaction among locals has been mixed, as expected in a region where emotions are expressed exclusively through raised eyebrows.

“I’m not against the Olympics,” said Karen, 47, from Fairlight, “I just don’t think 40,000 foreigners should be allowed to park near my Pilates studio.”

“Honestly, it’s fine,” said Steve from Curl Curl, “as long as they don’t change anything, build anything new, or acknowledge anyone west of the Roseville Bridge.”

Others were more supportive.

“We’ve already got activewear, ego and inflated property prices,” said Jaxon, 29, from Manly, adjusting his cap indoors. “We’re basically halfway to being an Olympic city already.”

Brisbane Responds

Queensland officials released a brief statement acknowledging the loss. “We remain confident Brisbane will be ready for the 2048 Olympics,” it read, “pending one more final (final) review of the last two final reviews.”

IOC Praises PRNB Efficiency

The IOC praised the PRNB’s “can-do, won’t-do” attitude. “They didn’t promise high-speed rail,” said Von Clipboard. “They just said, ‘you’ll figure it out’ and shrugged. That’s leadership.”

Security will be handled by a joint taskforce of surf lifesavers, private school rowing dads, and one bloke named Mick who “used to do security at Label.”

Opening Ceremony Details Leaked

The Opening Ceremony will feature:

  • A Welcome to Republic performed respectfully, followed immediately by      acknowledgement that the beers inside the stadium are definitely not      mid-strength
  • A flotilla of yachts drifting past Manly Wharf
  • Athletes parading in brand-neutral beige and thongs
  • The official Olympic motto unveiled:

“Northern Beaches Olympics 2032. Because Brisbane Wasn’t Exclusive Enough”

As the world prepares to descend on the Northern Beaches in 2032, PRNB officials remain confident. “If the Olympics fail,” Minister Saltburner said, “we’ll simply blame the traffic, the swell, or people from the Shire. As is tradition.”

The Games are scheduled to begin once everyone agrees the parking situation is “manageable,” which experts confirm is technically free, provided you already have the privilege of living here.
