NORTHERN BEACHES, PRNB — The People’s Republic of the Northern Beaches has declared a Level 4 Coastal Parking Emergency after suburban residents across Dee Why, North Curl Curl and Collaroy were once again traumatised by the sight of legally parked dinghies existing within 200 metres of their investment properties.
The backlash has become so extreme that some residents are now allegedly roaming the streets at night relocating boat trailers like unqualified valet attendants for the world’s angriest yacht club.
One local man says he parked his dinghy outside a home in North Curl Curl on Tuesday night before waking up to discover it had mysteriously migrated three suburbs south like a confused aquatic bird.
“I found it near Queenscliff with the jockey wheel locked and a passive aggressive note saying ‘we pay rates here’,” he said.
Witnesses claim entire neighbourhood WhatsApp groups are now dedicated exclusively to tracking trailer movements, identifying “repeat offenders” and discussing emergency response strategies whenever a tinny remains stationary for longer than 18 hours.
Residents most affected by the crisis say the boats are “destroying the character of the street,” despite the same streets already containing:
• 14 Rangers Rovers
• 6 jet skis
• A broken surf ski from 2009
• Three adult children named Banjo still living at home rent free
• And a rusted basketball hoop leaning at 37 degrees since the Abbott government.
One Dee Why homeowner reportedly suffered a complete emotional collapse after being forced to glance at a 3.8 metre aluminium dinghy while reversing his European SUV out for a sunrise coffee run.
“It’s basically waterfront crime,” he said, moments before parking his own boat illegally across a nature strip for six consecutive days.
Locals say the situation has become so aggressive that some dinghy owners are now hiding Apple AirTags, GPS trackers and handwritten decoy notes inside their boats reading:
“Congratulations. You are now part of an active police investigation.”
Meanwhile, residents without boats have entered the comments section demanding all trailers be banned permanently because “they make the area look bogan,” before immediately towing their own $280,000 fishing boat to Palm Beach every long weekend.
At publication time, a North Curl Curl resident was reportedly seen standing at his window in activewear whispering “That trailer has been there since Thursday” while contributing absolutely nothing else to society.
